At the heart of Sakhir is Rakesh Bhatia, carrying over 45 years of shoemaking experience inherited through generations. Beginning his journey alongside his father, he developed an instinctive understanding of leather, structure, balance, and form through decades of hands-on craftsmanship.
Every silhouette at Sakhir reflects his precision, discipline, and uncompromising eye for detail.
He is not just the foundation of the brand - he is the reason it exists.
Saransh Bhatia
The Designer. The Bridge Between Worlds.
“Legacy gives you a language. Design is how you choose to speak it.”
Representing the third generation, Saransh Bhatia carries the legacy forward through innovation and global exposure. A Master’s graduate in Footwear Innovation from SLEM, Netherlands, he trained across leading footwear ecosystems in Germany, Italy, China, and India.
His experience spans Wortmann Group (Germany), Atom (Italy), UGG’s manufacturing facility in China, and Indian manufacturers producing for brands like Zara and Hush Puppies.
At Sakhir, he blends heritage craftsmanship with modern design, precision, and production, evolving the legacy while preserving its soul.
Radhika Modgil
The Architect. The System Behind the Craft.

Radhika brings structure, strategy, and scalability to Sakhir’s craftsmanship.
With a background in economics and experience across policy, governance, and large-scale systems, she developed a strong understanding of operations and organisational growth. Her work in manufacturing transformation focused on lean systems, strategic procurement, digital integration, and process efficiency, driving growth while building scalable, compliant operations.
At Sakhir, she leads operations, marketing, process design, and business development, ensuring that exceptional craftsmanship is supported by equally strong systems behind the scenes.
Her role may not be visible in the product, but it exists in everything that makes it possible
